The best of Vlašić

Vlašić is most famous after Vlašić cheese, also known as Travnik cheese, one of the best white cheese in brine. The technique of making cheese in this country was brought by nomadic folk from the East who have called themselves Vlachs. Hence the name of the mountain became Vlašić. Cheese is produced from fresh, unpasteurized sheep milk, but it is also made from cow's milk for those who find the flavor of sheep milk too strong.
